I'm not really looking for general answers along the lines of - meet some technical requirements for hiring. I'm a senior at Marquette University studying Electrical and Computer Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. How do I get hired by Google? Feel free to post any personal or even friend of a friend insight- heck I'd love to hear all the rumors too. One of my professors recently told me that a former student reached the final interview at Google, and when it was over felt <span style="font-style: italic;">relieved</span> he didn't get the job. Does Google intentionally stress out candidates as part of the weed out process? Is Google truly the wonderful techie paradise we all believe it to be. I've worked 3 summers for a very well established American engineering company, and I'm just not sure how I like all the office-spaceness of it (or Dilbert-land). Google to many geeky college students is like the heaven on earth place we all dream of working, where working is FUN. Possibly because no one reads my blog anyway... A new school year starts for me tomorrow, and I'm at the point where I can't wait for it to begin. Give me about a week and I'll be hoping becoming an engineer wasn't so darn much work. I'm worried that I'll get on a bad senior design project. Worse than that though, I'm currently unemployed. My campus research job doesn't have the budget to pay me, and the company I've worked for the past 3 summers wanted to keep on part-time remotely--- but is having a budget freeze.
